Aims and objectives:

Link Community Development is an international development NGO working at all levels of the education system – with communities, schools and governments – to identify and remove the obstacles to quality education. Link currently works in rural districts of Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi and Uganda.

Main activities:

LCD has worked in more than 3,000 schools and impacted on nearly two million learners and their communities.

Through its School Performance Review, LCD collects data on school management, teaching, community participation and so on, develops individual school and district education performance reports, and co-facilitates School Performance Appraisal Meetings with local officials.

The information collected enables school communities and stakeholders to tailor interventions based on real data to best meet their needs and, critically, enable them to make best use of scarce school and district resources.

LCD has also developed a range of interventions and training courses to address education improvement areas, including school management, teacher training, girls’ education initiatives and language/ literacy.
