SUMMARY:International Girls in ICT Day: Digital Skills for Life
DESCRIPTION:2023 Theme: Digital Skills for Life \nFor girls and young women to thrive in science\, technology\, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers\, they need to acquire skills to become both ICT users and creators in the digital world. \nGoals: \n\nEncourage girls and young women to pursue STEM education.\nInspire girls and young women to work in STEM careers.\nEngage the community and promote collaboration through partnerships.\n\nIn 2023\, International Girls in ICT Day will be celebrated on 27 April. Each year\, the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and partners work together to inspire and encourage girls to pursue a future in ICTs and to empower them by ensuring they have the necessary skills\, confidence and support to achieve their goals. \nPossible Activities: \n\nOrganise or participate in an event. The ICU hosts an ICT Day event every year to encourage more girls and young women to join the tech sector.\nInspire more girls to explore STEM careers. Invite a tech professional to share their journey in the tech industry and provide a guide on how girls and women can pursue a career in STEM.\n\nFurther information is available here.
