SUMMARY:Commonwealth Day - Forging peaceful and sustainable common futures
DESCRIPTION:Commonwealth Day is an annual celebration observed by people all over the Commonwealth in Africa\, Asia\, the Caribbean and Americas\, the Pacific and Europe. 2023 is the first Commonwealth Day presided over by HM King Charles III as Head of the Commonwealth. \nCommonwealth Day 2023 will take place on Monday 13 March\, 2023\, marking the beginning of a week-long series of events and activities happening around the Commonwealth. The theme for Commonwealth Day 2023 is ‘Forging a sustainable and peaceful common future’. \nYoung people are encouraged to participate in Commonwealth Day activities and as part of the Commonwealth Year of Youth 2023. Theme resources\, including education resources and the logo\, are available here. \nThe theme combines the active commitment of member states to support the promotion of peace\, prosperity and sustainability\, especially through climate action\, so as to secure a better future for our young people and improve the lives of all Commonwealth citizens. \nA linked initiative is Commonwealth Flag for Peace – more details here.
