Year established: First issued 2003

Number of staff: Volunteer editor

Officers (2015):

Editor: Beth Kreling

Aims and objectives:

The aim of the Calendar is to alert recipients/readers to events of interest to them and, where possible, direct them to websites or contact persons from which they may draw further information. Its wider purpose is to help link Commonwealth education/ culture/youth constituencies and help to create a sense of community and shared identity.

Main activities:

The Calendar appears four times a year in January, April, July and October, and lists upcoming events for up to two years ahead, mainly in the areas of education, youth and culture. The events are primarily ones of pan-Commonwealth interest, but some national events that focus on Commonwealth/ international issues may also be included.

Material is collected for the calendar by direct approach to member organisations of the Consortium and to others who are known to have relevant information, but it is open to others to submit items to the editor for inclusion at her discretion, if she thinks them relevant.

The Calendar is distributed free of charge by email and the latest edition is posted on the Consortium’s website. It is not treated as copyright and other organisations are welcome to distribute it to their members, but are asked to acknowledge the source.
