TOWARDS A COMMON FUTURE FOR EDUCATION

A Report for the Commonwealth Consortium for Education

On the eve of the 20th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers in Fiji in February 2018, and the ensuing Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London in April, the Consortium has commissioned an independent report on the place of education in the Commonwealth’s collective existence and activity and the nature and extent of existing co-operation in education taking place under a Commonwealth banner.

The report is intended as a conversation starter to stimulate constructive dialogue on how educational collaboration can be enhanced through partnerships among (and beyond) members of the Commonwealth family. The analysis, conclusions and recommendations to the Consortium set out in the report are entirely the author’s own as an independent consultant. The Consortium has shared the report more widely as a first contribution to a much needed debate about the way forward for the Commonwealth in educational co-operation.

The final report and appendices published in February 2018 can be downloaded here.
